Establishing Habits

The first thing in any learning process is establishing habits, according to experts. One thing that works with kids is setting an example. If a kid watches you do some dental health activities they will replicate it. That is the wonder of a child’s curiosity. Even if a toddler’s teeth are going to fall eventually, it is still good to get them used to good dental health for toddlers. Here we have some ways to take good care of your kids’ teeth.

  • Gum cleaning. Even before the real teeth appear, kids can have tooth decay. This is normal but you can prevent it. How? Gum cleaning. You can use a damp cloth to clean them and prevent decay.
  • Brush as soon as you see the first tooth. This happens around the first six months of their life. If you see their tooth, brush it gently but do not let it slide. Remember to change their toothbrush every two to four months to ensure no bacteria spreads.
  • Try to reduce sugar at an early age. Sometimes we have milk that is too sweet. Feeding this to your toddler at night can be bad and cause cavities. Try to control that to avoid any damage to their teeth.
